If you're playing the original Mass Effect and especially if you have a low level character and this is the first planet you go to after leaving the Citadel, keep in mind that you will be facing a particularly challenging opponent at the end. This is a mission where all your weapons will be useful in particular instances, and pay close attention lest they cause your weapons to prematurely overheat.

Tali's AI Hacking Ability (or Shepard's, if playing as an Engineer) can be particularly useful in this mission.ДЄs per standard procedure with geth, have good anti-jamming mods ready.

You will be facing mostly geth all the way, so the usual tech talents will be helpful. Note that if you do choose to delay the mission an alternative first meeting scenario will play out in this mission, detailed below, and so that can be an interesting choice for variety in storyline immersion as well. Choosing to delay this mission substantially does deprive you at least temporarily of a valuable biotic teammate and reduces your opportunity for character interaction and romance, all of which are excellent incentives to do this mission fairly early. On the other hand this mission features several difficult battles 'at close quarters' with enemies capable of 'one shotting' Shepard, and so if you are playing on a high difficulty level there are incentives for delaying it as well in order to level up. Of the three core world missions that first become available, the advantage of choosing this one first is that it will recruit your last squadmate, who can unlock some unique interactions on Noveria.
